Did you know that there are hidden toxic chemicals in most horse feeders? Most people are unaware of the dangers in some feeders and the harm they can do to our beloved animals.

Most plastics contain chemicals but the ones to especially watch out for are #3, #6, & #7
Plastic #2: High Density
Polyethylene (HDPE)
Plastic #3: Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) AVOID
Plastic #4: Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE)
Plastic #5: Polypropylene (PP)
Plastic #6: Polystyrene (PS) AVOID
Plastic #7: Other AVOID
LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) plastics are generally good choices as they transmit no known chemicals into food and are generally recyclable. LDPE: Not known to leach any chemicals that are suspected of causing cancer or disrupting hormones LDPE is considered a low hazard plastic. BPA stands for bisphenol A. BPA is an industrial chemical that has been used to make certain plastics and resins since the 1960s. BPA is found in polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. Polycarbonate plastics are often used in containers that store food and beverages, such as water bottles. They may also be used in other consumer goods.
